Our host family program connects international students with caring families who provide a safe home, cultural exchange, and personal support throughout their academic journey in the U.S, Canada, and Australia.
What is Hosting?
Hosting is the act of a family providing a room, meals, and a supportive environment for a student from another country while they attend a local school.
Responsibilities of the Host Family:
1. Provide a safe, clean, and welcoming home environment.
2. Offer a furnished private bedroom with adequate heating, lighting, and storage space.
3. Provide nutritious meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) daily, unless otherwise arranged
4. Include the student in normal family life and activities, while respecting cultural differences.
5. Ensure reasonable access to laundry facilities, internet, and shared living spaces.
6. Support the student’s adjustment to life in a new culture, community, and school.
7. Notify the Agency promptly of any concerns, issues, or emergencies involving the student.
8. Adhere to all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding hosting a student.
Requirements Checklist for Host Families:
1. Must pass a background check.
2. Families must be able to provide a private room
3. Safe and welcoming environment.
What We Provide:
1. Monthly stipend.
2. 24/7 support and local coordinator visits.
3. Cultural training and clear guidelines.
